Animus: Service and Visualisation Design

What is it?

Animus is a futuristic service that uses Artificial Intelligence to help people re-discover themselves and their call to happiness. Starting from a service presented in Black Mirror, we analyzed the implications of artificial inteligence applied for using personal data contextually, to find a positive approach to it. The  new defined service was developed using several rounds of prototyping and testing. The final experience prototype session was conducted with a setup carefully curated for a particular user. The test feedback aided in further defining the service and creating post-service souvenir.

This project was done in a group of six as a part of a course called ‘Visualisation and Prototyping’.
We then identified 4 steps through which a lost person should pass to find himself. Starting from a first phase in which the person relives the most painful memories of his life, we move to the second phase where the best moments are shown. In the third phase the user is encouraged to meditate on the two previous phases, and can realize that although there have been difficult moments in his life there have been as many happy ones. Finally, the last phase shows the passions, the things and the people loved; the user finally understands again who he is and what makes him happy.
Prototyping Testing Video
Testing included observation of user actions and gestures during the simulated experience, followed up by a curated feedback session and and an activity to truly grasp the experience and develop from it.
